Starting Line Program Summary:
The Starting Line Fast Track program is a complete, student-driven Transition curriculum designed to guide students through the process of identifying and achieving their postsecondary goals.
The program guides students through numerous assessments and activities which are designed to help them identify their wants, interests, strengths, and needs. Based on what they discover, students continue to refine their future options and become more aware of their opportunities and responsibilities.
Then students begin the process of taking ownership for their Postsecondary goals by writing their own goals. Students also assess their Transition readiness and identify their strengths and needs along with a checklist of important tasks and a timeline for completing them.
Next, students are guided through a series of tasks which prepares them to reach their postsecondary goals.
By the end of the program, students are more confident and prepared to make a successful transition to adult life because of the work they have done in the Starting Line Fast Track program.
How to Begin Using the Fast Track:
When districts or teachers begin the Starting Line program, they purchase one Fast Track student workbook for each sophomore, junior, and senior.
The Fast Track is flexible and also works for programs with 18 to 22 year old students, alternative programs, and correctional institutions.
