The Starting Line Foundations printed workbook for general education guides middle school students or early high school students to explore their strengths, preferences, and options for education/training, employment, and independent living.

Students also learn important vocabulary related to adult life and used what they learn in the program to identify meaningful post-school goals. The Foundations program can be completed in 1 or 2 years depending on the time available to work on the program and the needs of your students.

Each Foundations printed workbook includes:

  • 11 Transition Assessments
  • 17 Transition Activities

Each student participating in the program will require his/her own Foundations printed workbook.

Starting Line Foundations Summary:

The Starting Line Foundations printed workbook is a student-driven program designed to guide middle school (or early high school) students through the process of identifying their initial post-school goals. The program can be completed in 1 or 2 years depending on the time available to implement the program and the needs of the students in your district or classroom.

The program guides students through numerous assessments and activities which are designed to help them explore their wants, interests, strengths, needs and options for (1) Employment, (2) Education/Training, and (3) Independent Living.

By the end of the program, students will have learned about important vocabulary for adult life. They will also have explored their future options based on their strengths and preferences and used what they’ve learned to identify initial post-high school goals for employment, education/training, and independent living.

 

Implementing the Starting Line Foundations program:

Each student participating in the program will require his/her own Foundations Printed Workbook.

The Foundations workbook is perfect for introducing Transition to middle school students and/or early high school students (9th or 10th graders).
